How #BahnLovesBike can become a reality until 2030 – Fahrrad und Bahnen sector initiative

Wednesday 10:00 – 11:15 am / Block Side Event

If you want to double rail use and meet climate change targets, you have to make the combination of bicycles and trains more attractive: Few other measures are suited to encourage people to switch to bicycles and trains as quickly or as comprehensively, especially for commuting. The Fahrrad und Bahnen sector initiative relies on 1 million bike racks, more than 100,000 sharing bikes, best app & web offers for routing and booking, attractive bike tickets for Germany and the optimization and expansion of ride-sharing. In this side forum, we want to present our transport policy proposal and discuss how we can make #BahnLovesBike possible by 2030.

Keynote:
Vision, benefits, components and funding needs of the sector initiative for bike and rail
Heinrich Strößenreuther, agency for smart cities (Agentur für clevere Städte)

Alexander Rosenthal, Federal Association for the Future of Cycling

Panel-Diskussion:
