School run? No thank you! Mobility management at schools and in school zones

Independent active mobility is best learned as a child. Supporting local authorities by establishing school zones during school hours or traffic calming measures around school centres, bicycle safety campaigns, school mobility plans and school route planners. Safe routes to schools require good cooperation between local authorities, schools, parent associations, children and young adults as well as the police. How can local authorities control the process and transfer the strategy of one school to all the others? What kind of communication with children and parents is essential?
